Exterior Transportation Protection

Transit Film
Automotive Transit Film can be placed on many horizontal surfaces to help protect the vehicles paint finishes from acid rain, bird droppings, transmission and brake fluid, and rail filings during transit. 2 mil tape helps prevent the penetration of rail filings into the paint surface during rail transportation. To help reduce labor and application time, the tape is available in sutom widths and lengths for various sized surfaces. It can be easily applied to the vehicle using overhead dispensers just prior to leaving the assembly plant. The film then can be trimmed to size. This tape has been tested for 14 weeks of outdoor exposure with clean removal. Transit film is commonly used to wrap rear view mirrors during transit to dealers. These films help protect the finish from rock chip and insect staining. Transit film is also applied to access door handles and the area above the driver's door. This helps protect against scratches that may occur upon entering the vehicle at the assembly plant or the transportation company.

Anti-Mutilation Tape
Transit Film and Anti-Mutilation Tapes are widely used on plastic fascias and metal bumpers to help protect surfaces against rubbing during transit by trail or truck. In addition to fascias, this film has been used on several areas of the quarter panels and hood to help protect against scratches from tools and hoses that commonly rub and mar painted surfaces.

Rock and Chip Damage
4 and 5 mil thick tape helps protect against rock and chip damage during truck and rail transportation. These tapes have been tested for 14 weeks of outdoor exposure with clean removal.
